What to ask your web hosting company
1. How often do you back up the files?
The answer you should be looking for is that they backup every night. You should also keep a up to date copy of your site on your computer to be on the safe side.

2. What sort of equipment and software are in place to ensure that my site is up? Read more...
Great web site design features
As a professional web design business, we have created and re-created many sites. The "great" ones have certain things in common. We thought we'd share those elements with you…

1. Easy to read. If background colors or images are used, the text on top of the background should be in a color that can easily be seen. Use a color scheme that complements and is pleasing to the eye. White space between images and sections of text make a page easier to view. Read more...
Becoming a Web Hosting Reseller In Easy Steps
Simply put, reselling is a way to make money, both in the case of the provider supplying the original service, and the independent operator doing the reselling. It is a relationship between a service provider, and a special kind of customer.
In a reselling relationship, the reseller is not an employee of the service provider, but instead acts as an extension of the larger company's marketing, sales and support operations. The reseller markets the product independently, and signs up customers to the original provider's service, often providing the simple side of the service, like offering basic tech support and administration of the account. Website design firms come in all shapes and sizes.
When choosing which firm you would like to build your website, there are many factors which you need to take into consideration.
There is no point having really nice looking website if no one can see it because it has poor optimisation.
Most web desgn firms will offer additional services such as optimisation, website promotion and may also submit your website to the search engines.
For me the website they have created for you should be fully optimised anyway and I would also expect the web design firm should submit the site to the search engines as a matter of course. It is always worth asking to make sure.
Once they have produced what hopefully is an outstanding website you then need to ask them if they would include a link to your homepage from their own website, preferably their homepage. Search engines these days take these backward links into consideration when they decide where to position your site in their results. As a general rule of thumb the more backward links you have the more visitors to your site you atre likely to have.
If you want to promote the website even further, google adwords is a favourite of mine. This is where you pay to be seen on the right hand side of the results in Google, in the sponsored search section.
